Update about Homework Expectations over the Extended Spring Break

Hello Lincoln Families,

In light of the extended spring break for the next three weeks, we recognize that some families may be looking for academic work for students to complete. As the district has decided that this is an extended spring break/non-instructional time, and the fact that we are a no-homework school, we will not be requiring work to be done over the extended spring break or sending required work home. Students may bring home projects/work at their choosing, but it is not required to complete them. Additionally, as has been provided throughout the school year, each grade-level has monthly optional homework menus available on the website. There will be a menu for our primary/kindergarten students for this month only. There is no requirement to turn this homework in for a grade, but your student may show their teacher their work if they like. If there is an online resource that your student has had access to and the option to do at home, we welcome you to utilize these resources during this time, as well. Please contact your student’s individual teacher if you need their login information.

We understand that this is an unsettling time and recognize the difficulty this decision places on families. We want all families to remain healthy, but we will miss our students dearly. We welcome communication over this time. If your student would like to send an email, write a letter, or communicate in some other way (such as Class Dojo, Facetime, etc), please communicate with your student’s teacher.

Emily and Janice
