Round 1 of SchoolChoice for the 2021-2022 school year is open 8:00 a.m. Jan. 15 to 4 p.m. Feb. 16, 2021.
If you want to enroll in a DPS school other than your neighborhood school for the 2021-2022 school year, you may take part in Round 1 of SchoolChoice. Please note:
Early Childhood Education: Incoming preschool students, and incoming kindergarten students who reside in an enrollment zone, must participate in SchoolChoice on a yearly basis; due to space limitations, enrollment in a preschool program is not guaranteed.
Kinder through 11th grade: If your student is currently in kindergarten through 11th grade and will be staying at his or her current school for 2021-2022, you do not have to fill out a SchoolChoice application.
In rare cases, a student who wishes to stay at his or her current school will be asked to submit a SchoolChoice application. Families will be notified by DPS before Round 1 if this is the case.
SchoolChoice is as easy as Find, Apply, Register!
Here’s how it works:
FIND the best DPS school for your student by reading the Enrollment Guide, using the mobile-friendly School Finder, and contacting schools directly.
APPLY between 8 a.m. Jan. 15 and 4 p.m. Feb. 16 by ranking your top schools using the online SchoolChoice application. Visit the SchoolChoice website to create an account and access the application when the window opens Jan. 15.
REGISTER for your school after you get your school placement results in late March 2021.
The Virtual Tour and Q & A Session will be held over Zoom. Once registered, a link to the meeting will be shared with you to join.
New Families to the Neighborhood
Families who have recently moved to the neighborhood may come directly to the front office to register their student(s) for school. Call the office at 720-424-5990 with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, no non-staff members or students can be allowed inside the building. Please call the office to register your student.
