Round 1 of SchoolChoice for the 2024-2025 school year is open from 10 a.m. on Jan. 13, to 4 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2024.
The DPS School Choice Round 1 window opens January 13th. SchoolChoice enrollment is for any student who wants or needs to attend a new school for the following school year, particularly “transitioning” students, typically incoming kinder, sixth and ninth-grade students. Students planning to attend Lincoln next year (with the exception of rising 4 year olds) do not need to complete a School Choice application. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Kimberlie at 720-424-5990.
Round 2 of SchoolChoice for the 2024-2025 school year opens on April 10th at 10:00am and closes at the end of August.
Here’s how it works:

Families of three and four year olds must also complete the Universal Preschool application during the application window Jan 17 through Feb 15. This is a separate process from SchoolChoice. Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado allows families to choose the right setting for their child, whether it is in a licensed community-based, school-based or home-based preschool setting. This new program will provide additional funding opportunities for our ECE-providing schools and district partners, including charter schools and private ECE providers. UPK ensures that every child in the year before they are eligible for kindergarten is eligible for half-day (15 hours per week) state-funded, voluntary preschool beginning in the 2023-24 school year. Three-year-olds with qualifying factors are eligible for at least part-time (10 hours per week) preschool programming.
We believe there is no better way to understand the community, resources, and learning environments of Lincoln than to experience them yourself—even if you’re just curious. To this end, we invite you to take a school tour and to get in touch with our team. Our secretary can be reached via email: mainoffice_lincolnelementary@dpsk12.net and our front office at 720-424-5990.
Families who have recently moved to the neighborhood may come directly to the front office to register their student(s) for school. Call the office at 720-424-5990 with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, no non-staff members or students can be allowed inside the building. Please call the office to register your student.
