Dear Lincoln Friends and Families-
Thank you for your patience and all of your support this fall. We are preparing for our final staggered entry for our 2nd-5th grades and Montessori Lower and Upper Elementary classes. As a staff, we have been tirelessly working to make sure that the safeguards are in place for our students and staff to return for in-person learning. I know that these changes create stress and anxiety. We are here to help answer any questions. Please reach out if you need support.
Our school hours will be slightly changed as of October 21st. We had to make the shift in order to adequately provide planning time for teachers and ensure we had sufficient coverage for recess time. With that classes will be dismissed at 3:00 or 3:05 on the blacktop. Please note this change in time. Discovery Link and Washington Street Community Center have been notified of the change and will be ready to receive children starting at 3:00.
Additionally, Montessori primary classes will begin arrival at 8:45. The check-in process goes a lot faster than originally anticipated and we do not need the 30 minute window.
Below you will find more information to prepare for Monday’s gradual return.
Student Health Screenings
Please complete the heath screening every morning before sending your child to school. Below are the links for each class. If you have children in multiple classes you will need to complete a form for each child. If you would like to order a complementary hot lunch, this form is where you will indicate that.

Arrival Times:
Children may not come to school prior to 8:40 and there will be no playing on the playground or on the blacktop. Masks must be worn at pickup and drop off. Please only have 1 adult accompany students at drop off.

They will then go to their designated door for a health check and will directly go to their classroom to meet their teacher in the classroom.
School Day:
- 8:50- Breakfast in the classroom-
- Complementary breakfast is provided and delivered to each classroom every morning.
- 9:00- Learning Begins
- Students arriving after 9:00 check into the office before going to class. No parents/guardians may enter the building.
- 11:30-12:30 or 12:30-1:30- Lunch and recess
- Weather permitting, students will eat lunch outside as many days as possible.
- 3:00- Instructional Day Ends
- Students pack up to go home!
- 3:00-4:00 Students work on Asynchronous art, music and PE assignments on Seesaw at home.
Dismissal:
We will do a gradual release of students following the same protocol for arrival. All classes will be dismissed on the blacktop and will stay in cohort groups. Please meet your child and head home. Families may not stay to play on the playground after dismissal.

What should I send my child to school with?
It is important that students only bring the essentials to school each day. Students need to take all belongings home with them at the end of each day. Please send:
- 2 masks (one to wear and one for backup)
- Lunch (or indicate on the check-in form that they will be eating hot lunch)
- Snack
- Water bottle
- Chromebook (charged)
Classroom teachers may indicate other items for students to bring.
COVID-19 Guidelines
As we are in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many things are simply unpredictable, therefore we must remain flexible in this new space. We must all do our part to keep our community safe and healthy in order to maintain in-person learning.
- Sick Students:
- The isolation room is part of the clinic and is located in the gym office. Students who demonstrate or report one of the following signs/symptoms will be sent to the main office, then to the isolation room: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, abdominal pain, fatigue, muscle aches, headache. Their temperature will be checked by the school nurse or main office staff. If a student or staff member is ill, they may return to school once they have been seen and cleared by their medical professional or have quarantined for 14 days.
- COVID-19 Exposure:
- If a teacher, staff member, or student tests positive for COVID-19, the cohort will move to remote learning for 14 days (including weekends). Those who had direct contact with that person(s), will also be required to quarantine. Affected cohorts will move immediately into remote learning. If a student or staff member has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, the cohort will move to remote learning for a minimum of three days to allow for additional disinfecting and monitoring. We will communicate next steps with any impacted cohorts.
- Protocols for Positive Cases and Return to School:
- Symptomatic adults and students should not come to school or will be sent home. Symptomatic students (and staff, if needed) will be isolated until they can return to home safely. We will work with DPS leadership and CDPHE to implement guidelines on student and staff return to school, contact tracing, and indications for school closure.
