Mission

Lincoln Elementary and Montessori is a collaborative and inclusive school that provides exceptional academic programming in dynamic learning environments. We celebrate diversity, the whole child, and a growth mindset. Lincoln’s dedicated educators work alongside parents, families and community members to cultivate independent, lifelong learners.

Anti-Biased/Anti-Racist Statement

At Lincoln Elementary, we believe in treating everyone with fairness and kindness. We will not stand for racism – which means treating people unfairly because of the color of their skin or where they come from. We want to change unfair systems that keep some people from having the same opportunities as others.

We know that actions speak louder than words. So, we promise to be honest, open, and responsible as we work to improve the experiences of all students at Lincoln. We will listen to each other and ensure everyone’s voice is heard, especially those who have been historically ignored or treated unfairly.

Here are some things we promise to do:

• We will be a school community that stands against racism. That means we won’t accept it, and we will work to stop it.
• We will learn about how people can have biases without even knowing it, and how these biases can lead to unfair treatment. By understanding this, we can work together to change it.
• We will help students, teachers, and parents keep learning about these important issues, so we can break away from the unfair patterns of the past.

Here’s what this means for our students:

• We will have age-appropriate and honest conversations with children about race, power, privilege, and how we can work for fairness and justice.
• We will work together to create systemic change.
• We would love it if families in our community could share their cultural stories and knowledge with us. This will help us understand each other better and make positive changes together.
