Lincoln Ledger

A Note from the Principal . . .

Hello Lincoln Families,

The first BIG snow has come and gone signaling the real change in seasons!  It always feels like time speeds up this time of year.  We are just a week away from Thanksgiving Break and then, it won’t be long before Winter Break eases us into 2025.

We have accomplished a great deal  in these past few months. In addition to so much learning and growth – both academically and socially and emotionally – we have been very busy ensuring we know what each student needs to continue to thrive and move forward this year.   Students in grades 3 – 6 have completed DPS’ new Interim Assessments as well as the yearly Student Perception Surveys.  The purpose of the new  Interim Assessments is to provide a view of how students are progressing toward demonstrating proficiency on CMAS.  With that in mind, these assessments were designed to be closely aligned to the content, rigor, standards, and question types on the end-of-year Colorado Measures of Academic Success.

Our students in 3rd through 6th grade also had an opportunity to complete Student Perception Surveys.  These surveys ask students to rate their experiences with their teachers. Students respond to statements like, “My teacher values and respects my input” and “My teacher explains what we are learning and why.”  Allowing students to be heard empowers them, and helps all Lincoln teachers reflect on their practices and ensure that student needs are always being met.

Our next edition of the Ledger will come out in early December. Between now and then, our entire Lincoln Staff wishes everyone a special time filled with warmth, gratitude, and the company of loved ones.  We are thankful for our wonderful community and look forward to our journey through this holiday season together.

In partnership,

Principal Shelley Dulsky
