Our fantastic Lincoln Shakespeare club has been hard at work preparing for this year’s DPS Shakespeare Festival, which is this Friday, April 22. The DPS Shakespeare Festival is the oldest and largest student Shakespeare festival in the country, and perhaps the world, and includes thousands of students and teachers from schools all across the region. We are so proud of our young thespians and grateful for parents like Anne Coughlin, Rebekah Cholak and Andrea Schumacher who made this happen for our kids this year.
Wednesday, May 11th is our annual Moving Up Day. This special time gives students the opportunity to meet new teachers, connect with peers, and explore new classroom environments. We want students to feel confident and excited before returning to school in the fall; ready to learn. All Elementary students will have a chance to meet next year’s teachers. Montessori Kindergarten and 3rd grade students will spend time working side-by-side with Lower and Upper Elementary peers. This time is just for students to orient themselves in their new classes. Parents will have the opportunity to visit with teachers at our Back to School Open House.
Later that afternoon, from 4:00-4:30 PM, we will host an orientation for New to Lincoln families to meet their classroom teachers and learn more about our wonderful school.
Huge thanks to everyone who has participated in our focus groups to guide our strategic plan. We are excited to continue to refine our vision in the coming weeks and share it with you.
In gratitude,
Emily Clark- Principal
