Our first all-school assembly, on Thursday, October 30th, was truly a spectacular experience as we came together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the amazing Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant-Webster.
This Emmy Award-winning group is the first elementary mariachi ensemble in the Denver Public Schools system, founded in 2004 to honor and preserve the rich culture of mariachi music. Over 250 students from third through eighth grade have participated in this after-school program, learning musicianship, technique, and performance skills. These dedicated students practice daily, attend weekly lessons, and uphold strong academic and citizenship standards.
El Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant-Webster has a remarkable history of performances—from local cultural parades and galas to collaborations with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and national educational conferences. Under the passionate direction of Jacqueline Liñan, continuing the legacy of founder Pamela Liñan, this group inspires pride and joy in our community.
We are so grateful to have shared this vibrant and inspiring cultural celebration with our students.
