Lincoln Ledger

Hello Lincoln Friends & Families,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at parent/ caregiver-teacher conferences last week. Please continue to reach out with questions and concerns as well as look for bi-weekly classroom updates from your teachers.

If you missed our conversation with author Donna Hicks, visit our website soon to view the recording of the Learn at Lincoln.

Halloween is around the corner and we love dressing up for the festivities. Part of creating a safe school community for all is ensuring that racially, culturally and ethnically based costumes are not a part of the festivities. For more information about this, check out Britt Hawthorn’s post from The Conscious Kid.

At Lincoln, we do not wear costumes to school on Halloween as costumes can become uncomfortable during the day for children, restrict movement when playing outside and accessories can be lost or broken. Students can wear Halloween themed clothing and festive headbands and wear costumes to the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 29th.

Cold and flu season is upon us and it is important that sick people stay home, rest, and return to school when they are symptom free. Please review this guide if you are uncertain if your child is Too Sick to come to school, or the illness policy on the Lincoln website.

Best,
Emily Clark, Principal
