Welcome to the Computer Lab

Look under the appropriate age group below to see what your child is working on in computer class.

Kid on computer:

KINDERGARTEN
We began the year with mouse and keyboarding skills.  Students are using the program Type to Learn Jr. to learn the following skills on the keyboard:  letters, numbers, uppercase letters, punctuation, and sentences.  Look for your child to bring home a certificate demonstrating these skills.

GRADES 1-2
We began the year with keyboarding. Students completed all the lessons in the learning lab in the program Type to Learn Jr. and brought home certificates.  Lessons included letters, numbers, uppercase letters, punctuation, and sentences.  We are moving on to word processing in which students will learn to produce a short story using a word processing document.

GRADES 3-5
We began the year with 2-handed typing in the keyboarding program
Type to Learn.  Students earn leaves to attach to our "Growing Computer Skills" Tree bulletin board as they move through the 22 lessons.  We will move on to word processing where student will be introduced to basic world processing skills such as double spacing and tabing, centering and formating text, spell check and thesaurus functions and more.  Students will edit all work at the keyboard.
