What a great few weeks we’ve had! The kids are really settling in.  It feels so good to get back into a regular routine. We have enjoyed being with old friends again, as well as welcoming new. There have been many grace and courtesy lessons to help us in caring for each other and our classrooms.  We have been giving many group lessons showing how we do things. We have also been working on learning the names of everyone in the classroom, figuring our how the classroom works and enjoying each other’s company. 

We are looking forward to a fantastic year!  Thank you again for your patience, help, and your understanding these first few weeks.

 

Show and Tell

We will start our sound of the week/Show and Tell, on Wed, Sept 10^th, 2008. Please remember, we focus on the sound the letter makes, not the name of the letter, as this is what we use when we teach your child to read. A child may bring at least one sharing item that starts with the sound of that week on Wednesday. Please put it in a labeled bag to share with the class. The first sound of the week will be ‘Aa’. Your child's show and tell object/picture should be something that starts with the letter/sound that corresponds to the week. The child orally gives the class three clues about what they have brought and we try to guess what it is.
