RTI response to intervention 3 tiers of supportInterventions

DPS uses the Response to Intervention model (RTI-left) to provide targeted tier 2 reading, writing, and math intervention to students who need it. Interventions give students a chance to work in a small group setting with a paraprofessional or intervention teacher in an environment similar to tutoring. Interventions range from 30-45 minutes 3-5 days a week. Students receiving interventions do not need or qualify for special education services. Math Navigator is used for math intervention. Reading Plus and FAST Reading program are used for reading intervention.

The student intervention team meets periodically based on need to determine the best academic or behavioral intervention for students needing extra support. Most meetings take place on Mondays at 8 a.m. in the school library.
